Adverse reactions

For the physiotherapy to be most effective, advice needs to be followed. At any time if you are unclear about advice, you have been given it is your responsibility to ask questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

It is normal to feel tender, have redness and/or potential bruising around the treated area for 48 hours after treatment, this will subside. Ice and pain relief can ease these symptoms.

Dry Needling is a technique using thin sterile needle to treat painful trigger points in muscles. When needling over the chest area it is possible to cause a Pneumothorax (lung puncture). If this occurs you will have shortness of breath. This is a medical emergency that requires urgent medical treatment.

When doing a pelvic floor internal assessment, occasionally tenderness, small amount of bleeding or discharge can occur. This is normal.
